Attempted Murder Of Officers: Court Date Set

Defendant to face preliminary hearing at Old Bailey over "blade attack".

A man charged in connection with an attack that left police officers seriously injured is due to appear in court at the end of this month, it has been confirmed.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police said that Christopher Alexander Houghton (32) of Milford Gardens, Wembley, will face a plea and case management hearing before the Old Bailey on Monday, February 27 2012.

Houghton faces allegations of two counts of ABH on a police officer, a count of GBH on an officer and four counts of attempting to murder a police officer.

The charges relate to alleged offences carried out in Harrow on November 19 2011, when there was a disturbance reported in Kingsbury.

Four officers were taken to hospital – one suffered a stab wound to his stomach and a second had head injuries and a stab wound to the arm.

A third was treated for a stab wound to the leg and the fourth was treated for a broken hand.

A provisional trial date for Houghton has been set for April 16 2012.
