A man is to appear before crown court in May charged with assaulting an officer.

Ekane Mukuna (19) of Abbotsford Avenue, N1 was charged with ABH on a police officer as well as possession of a prohibited weapon – a handgun – and possessing an offensive weapon.

Co-defendant Moses Preddie (20), of Omnibus Way, E17 also faces an allegation of possessing a prohibited weapon. A statement from the Met said that both men had been arrested on February 16.

The statement added: “They both appeared in custody at Thames Magistrates' Court and were remanded to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday May 1.”
