A minicab driver accused of a string of sex attacks on elderly women has been told he is a fantasist who would "stoop to any level" to avoid prosecution.
Alleged 'Night Stalker' rapist Delroy Grant was told his defence was a "complete fabrication from start to finish" and "almost laughable".
The claims were made as he was cross-examined by the prosecution at Woolwich Crown Court.
Standing in the witness box, Grant, 53, denied claims he had a "complete inability" to face up to his crimes.
"For what reason would anyone want to rape old women?" he asked.
Grant denies 18 sexual assaults, rapes and burglaries, which happened in Surrey, Kent and south London between 1992 and 2009.
On Wednesday, he claimed his ex-wife Janet Watson had framed him in a 30-year campaign of "malice" and "hatred".
He told the court she had stored his semen and saliva for 15 years before planting his DNA on a string of burglary victims.
Grant, who has fathered 10 children by four different women, said she was angered by his womanising and violence.
He earlier accused both police and Ms Watson of lies as he said evidence was planted on him on the day of his arrest.
He denied telling officers there was no point taking his fingerprints "as he always wore gloves".
He also maintaind a fleece and crowbar found in his car had been planted by his ex-wife and an accomplice.
The jury heard he had been wearing two pairs of jeans, two pairs of underpantsand three t-shirts on the night of his arrest in 2009.
The trial continues.
