Background
In an initiative started by Norfolk Constabulary, the whole of the UK Police Service is putting its weight behind the Help for Heroes campaign.
The charity has produced a Police pin badge designed to be worn with Police uniform or work clothes. It is the first official badge that has been produced for Police.
The badge, designed by the charity co-founders Bryn and Emma Parry, supports the national Help for Heroes charity which raises money to support the men and women who return wounded from active service.
Police Pin Badge Launched
Launched by Norfolk's Chief Constable Ian McPherson in July 2009, the first recipients of the metal pin badge were HRH Prince Charles and the Dutchess of Cornwall. Mr McPherson is hoping the initiative will enable the Police Service to be seen to be behind the men and women who return wounded from active service.
Raise a Million Campaign
Spurred on by the sales of the badges, and the news of tremendous fund-raising efforts already being undertaken by police personnel, UK police forces have come together to co-ordinate attributing all the money raised towards a national target of raising £1 million for the charity.
