In an initiative lead by Norfolk Constabulary, the UK police service is putting its weight behind the Help For Heroes campaign.
Launched by Norfolk’s Chief Constable Ian McPherson in July 2009, the first recipients of the metal pin badge were HRH Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall. Mr McPherson is hoping the initiative will enable the police service nationally to be seen to be behind the men and women who return wounded from active service.
The charity has produced a police pin badge designed to be worn with police uniform or work clothes.
It is the first official badge that has been produced for police.
