What we need is some volunteers to take over routine duties in police stations... that would free up some police officers to go and police. And any PCSOs could spot errant behaviour and call in... Of course, that PCSO might have been tipped the wink by one of their residents about a certain person always driving home with a skin full. People will often say things to a PCSO wherte they wouldn't to a police officer.
