Just recieved my results for Dyfed-Powys assessment centre and passed with 57%, the only problem being they only have 48 vacancies this year and with me being in 56th position have been put on a reserve list for 12 months. I'm really torn about whether to stay with them and hope some higher placed people transfer or drop out, or try to transfer my score to another force.
Do any midlands forces offer an over 50% or 55% pass rate? Is it Difficult to transfer scores? Is there any hope for me?????
I'm hanging on by the skin of my teeth here and I'm determined not to let go of this

Come on, you have just passed your assessment day and may have to wait 12 months to start!! There are 1000s of people out there itching to be in your position!
All the police forces are in the same state at the moment, West Midlands and West Mercia have hundreds of people waiting for start dates, so I dowt you will be able to transfer over. Warwickshire are a tiny force, they take on officers every blue moon. I don't know about Staffordshire, they were open for officer recruitment last autumn so it might be an idea to check their website and give them a ring to see if its possible.

The problem is my assessment score is only valid for 12 months so I would have to start from scratch if I don't get off the reserve list. Thats the dillema I have.
I know people say i've done well to get this far, but its so frustrating, especially as I started this application 16 months ago.

I put in my application to West Mercia in February 2008 and am just about to have my final interview, I may still not actually start until this time next year, If i'd known it would take this long I would have found something better to do in the meantime but there you go...I would sit it out if I were you and focus on something else for a bit to keep you busy, I promise the time will fly by, I still might get a different job while i'm waiting! good luck!
