Indeed I agree- She is the last person I would want told as she would I think have an entirely emotional reaction and use it to that end- Even the lowest scum has the right to a fair trial and she would take that away from him.
She is being entirely emotional about this and is showing little logic, but if he had murdered my son I think my response could be worse.

There is another facet to whether the identity should be released which came to the public forum yesterday, in that one Liverpool lad who had moved to Fleetwood was talking to a neighbour and in the conversation somehow he disclosed he had been in prison (for fraud) the next thing he knew was that a rumour had spread that he was Venables and he plus his family were hounded out after threats had been made.
He moved back to Liverpool but fears the rumour has followed him and he fears for the safety of himself and his family. Perhaps a little more information would help stay these rumours and what is intimidation of the worst kind.

I am not sure why there is need for reassurance that any trial will not be held in secret - Venables has preseumably not committed any offences in relation to National Security and, therefore, he must be tried like anyone else.
What concerns me is that this investigation appears to be taking a long time - it may, of course, be a complex one. However, my concern is that delays may be caused by the involvement of politicians and officials at the Dept of Justice etc ....... or is it just the usual CPS lack of urgency!
On another note, it is good to see that there appears to have been progress in the case of the kidnap and murder of Milly Dowler. I hope this may bring some closure to Milly's family.

I bet if it comes to court it will be very hard to keep his identity secret since the charges outlined are fairly specific. I think they should have been reported as "a number of images".

Strange isn't it- Pre puberty he had homicidal violent urges toward small children. In adulthood he's added sexual urges into the mix.
Just another piece of evidence that reinforces my view that some people are intrinsically evil and should be treated as such. In fact on that note I think I'll start a new thread...

HMS
Steady on HMS, you will have the PC Brigade after you. They were only bad because Mummy didn't breast feed them when they were babies.

Whether or not he was breast-fed isn't an issue any more - what we shouldn't be doing is having the UK taxpayer continuing to feed this scum - it's a case of "two strikes and your out" ........... it's time for him to take a short walk to the execution shed!
