Hi all, I have been viewing this site since I transferred my application to Essex: Nov 2008.
Fitness: Feb 2009 - pass
Medical: April 2009- pass
After reading the report that ellen had found, I am gutted and angry that we were not informed sooner. I called recruitment yesterday, they told me to wait for a letter, which they had no idea what it would read. Why don't they just tell us.
I am now unable to transfer my application to another force, because of this long wait with Essex police.

Sympathies Gemini, I agree that we should have all been made aware sooner of these plans.
I have also been following this forum since my AC day and med which was in Oct 09 and to be honest am not surprised in how this has all evoloved.
Lennon - Its a good start that you do not recall anything that will hinder your vetting, however they will also look at family/relative history - This I reckon will be my downfall. I hope we will still be entitled to appeal if we fail this? Think I will start mine sooner rather than later if we can......

It basically said there are 593 new recruits somewhere along the recruitment process. 250 of those are people who transfered there score from another force, they are going to get told there are no jobs for them. The rest of us are going to get vetted and security cleared which will apparently get rid of another 15%-20% of us. Then with the recruits they have left, they are going to see how much it will cost to get us through.

The report appears to have disappeared... I can't google it. It was the Minutes from a meeting of the Essex Police Authority in a PDF file, which, apart from being embarrassingly full of spelling mistakes, could easily be misinterpreted, fuel rumours because it was ambiguous, or might even be plain wrong.
They were looking at recruitment and considering what to do... but these considerations could have been taken as decisions by anyone reading it.
It may have gone because the Essex police websites seem to have been ungraded recently.
As I read it, they were looking at telling transferrees there were no jobs, not that they had decided to definitely do this. I didn't read it as a done deal.
I personally think you're all in a horrible situation, but I also think that second-guessing and speculation, especially this close to a General Election, is very counterproductive.

When reading the report, it basically says that who ever has transferred their results from another force within the 12 months will be told that the transfere will be cancelled and they will need to transfere some where else, and if essex recuirt again then they will be contacted and that the rest will be vetted which they expect 15% to 20% which is about 90 to 120 people, so just waiting for the next course and see what the numbers are, hopefully with the new budget....
