Why can't I log in to my account?

These are the most common causes assuming that your password and email address are correct;

  1. A common mistake is to enter the log in details into the 'Register' or 'Create an account' section rather than the sign in section
  2. Beware of copy then pasting your password into the box - sometimes spurious spaces are copied into the box with the password.
  3. Check you don't have 'CAPS' lock on
  4. Check out your browser security settings - Police Oracle uses a harmless 'cookie' to signal whether you are logged in our not. If your browser security settings are set too high then your browser may be blocking cookies so your log in won't work. Note: if you are using a police or other organisation network computer then the security policy may be set centrally.
Why can't I view articles despite being logged in?

If you are a free user and blocked from seeing articles then it will be because you have reached your 10 article monthly limit - you need to either upgrade to a paid subscription or wait until your article quota resets on the 1st day of the next month.

If you are paid user you should never be blocked from seeing articles unless you are not logged in or your subscription has been cancelled.
